Forest Dental is proud to be a mercury-free practice, meaning that all of our fillings are natural, tooth-coloured or white fillings that blend with the natural colour of your teeth. We can also remove old metal amalgam fillings and replace them with tooth-coloured composite fillings.
For larger cavities we offer tooth-coloured porcelain inlays and onlays, which fit into or on to a tooth respectively. Inlays and onlays are a good solution when the tooth has been too badly damaged to support a standard white filling but enough tooth structure remains to avoid having a crown fitted.
Inlays and onlays provide extra strength for your tooth, and with proper care can last for up to 30 years.
If we discover you need a filling during your routine dental check-up, Dr Rana will choose a shade of composite material that closely matches your natural teeth. This means that your fillings will not be obvious when you smile, and will look entirely natural.
In the past white fillings were thought to be less strong than traditional metal fillings, but advancements in dental technology mean that white fillings are now very strong and durable. Modern white fillings are made of a composite of resin and tiny particles of glass.
If you need a filling we will gently remove all decayed areas of your tooth under local anaesthetic and will carefully place a tooth-coloured filling in the cavity. This can be completed in a single appointment.Back To Treatments
